Search records using a textbox.

I have a form bound on a table. This table contains student records. If i search for a student, i have to search sequentially and it is time consuming since i am keeping a record of 300 students. What i want to do is to create a search function so i could search the student record right away using either StudentID or StudentLastName as input to the textbox... I've been using Access for only 3 months and im not so familiar with it. Any help will be much appreciated. TIA..
