    Help: Automate Ebay Selling

I want to automate the process of listing items for selling on ebay. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to try and use Microsoft Access 2007 with VBA to accomplish this, but I am open to other suggestions and recommendations .

Have you given this any consideration at all yet?

If you share your thoughts we may be able to expand on them with you. There's not much we can do with such an open-ended question though I'm afraid. Check out the rules for how you should be posting your questions.

I dont understand what you are saying here? I currently have a database which was created in MS Access 2007 which holds an Inventory of products with descriptions and images.

What I want to do is:
Be able to browse to the database item I want to list on ebay for selling then I want to have a button I can use, we can call it post to ebay. When the Button (Post to Ebay) is clicked then the item with all the relevant fields for that record will be posted to My Ebay account under selling,

That is not enough to start a project of this complexity.

Have you considered how you will interface to a web page (I believe there is a Microsoft library that can help with this but is IE based)?

Is there a published interface that ebay supports?

These are simply the very first steps you need to consider before embarking on such a project, and I'm afraid this is well beyond the scope of the help we offer. I'll dig up something that will help you better understand the type of questions we offer help with.
Before posting any question you are expected to attempt to find and work on a solution. When you find a specific problem with your attempt, that is the time to post here requesting assistance with any difficulties you have or about a particular function of the code that you don't know how to achieve. When posting your problem, details of the problem itself and where it's found are the bare minimum information required. The experts on this site are more than happy to help you with your problems but they cannot do your assignment/program for you.

I am not looking to have the program done for me. I was looking more or less for some insight and suggestions , maybe some advice is the right direction, or how would be the best way to approach this.

          Regards,

Well, I've given some hints and I've explained why I'm not prepared to go further on a single short paragraph of open-ended question. I think I've gone further than you have on this one and that's never a good sign. I've also told you what we expect and why.

Take it or leave it. Your choice.

I will prepare something in more depth and post it. When I do would you take a look at it and advise?

I can't promise to help for various reasons (though I will certainly look at it) :
                1. I may not have the relevant expertise.
                2. It may be too open-ended a question for me to want to get involved in. If you think about it it's not too practical for any expert to expend too much effort on a single thread. Any time spent on a single thread is time unavailable for the various other threads requiring attention.

While we are prepared to offer of our expertise to a certain level, there is a balance between sharing info and just taking on your burden and doing the work for you. This is never considered an appropriate expectation. We don't offer that level of help, and we don't expect to be asked for it.
                3. If you look at the quoted text in post #4, you will see the sort of thing that is our bread and butter. We are happy to handle some exceptions to this where it obviously cannot fit this mould, but not to an unlimited extent. If it falls outside that range I will check it out, and if I don't feel it is appropriate I will not expend much effort on it.

I tell you these things so that you understand where I'm coming from. I will help if I can. I simply want you to understand why I cannot guarantee expending a deal of effort on your question even when you have expended some yourself (although when a poster clearly has, this swings the balance in their favour somewhat).

If that doesn't sound like a good risk to you then I'm happy for you to call it a day.

If you do plan to proceed, bear in mind that questions expressed simply and clearly are more likely to be answerable than questions you've put great effort into, but which involve too much consideration even to understand the question. Let alone finding an answer.
