parameter problem in Access 2007 reports?

I have something interesting...l ooking to see if anyone else has came across this.

I have a query with parameter [From Date] and [To Date] and the query works beautifully every time. However, when I use the wizard to build a report, at the end of the wizard the report opens beautifully, asks for the 2 parameters, and displays results. Beautiful. Then, after closing the report and re-opening, the report promts me for a third, unwanted parameter. [See the thread: http://bytes.com/topic/access/answer...xtra-parameter.] (Don't get lost in all the technical stuff...at the end of the thread we discovered it's somethign different between Access 03 and Access 07. It seems was set up right to begin with (as far as we could tell.))An expert from Bytes tried to help me using Access 2003. He said he couldn't make the third parameter box come up. I tried it in 2003 and it indeed worked properly for me too. But in 2007, it still asks for this silly parameter. I have built the report at least 10 times and every time it does the exact same thing. I'm a beginner so go easy with the tech lingo. :-)
PS. My company is using 2007 optionally and saving files in 03 format so things are compatible with people who haven't upgraded.

If you pull up my DB from the linked thread, the report with the problem is rptHOTSTICK_FAI LURE_BY_DATE. The first two parameters can handle "1/1/09" and "10/10/09." The query it comes from is HOTSTICK_FAILUR E_BY_DATE Query.

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know a remedy?

    Thanks in advance. Danica

We don't have too many Access 2007 experts here I'm afraid Danica. I will post a link in our Experts area to see if anyone can help.

I will also edit your question to refer to a "third, unwanted parameter" instead of query.

I've done both now. Let's see what turns up :)

Found it. Your report has the property Order By set to "Date_Enter ed". It should be removed.
I'm guessing this is the result of the wizard not capturing the whole query field name after the spaces, but haven't tested.

I stumbled across the solution to this problem. In my Properties table, the third parameter I have been getting was listed in the OrderBy section. I removed this and my problem was solved. (I really don't know how it got there but let's be sure it's something silly I did.) I'm just glad I fixed it. Today is a very happy day!

I appreciate it too, ChipR. You gave me a simple, one-sentence hint on another post that opened up a whole new world for me. I have solved several problems from it. Your service to me is not unrecognized!!! !! Thanks!!!!!!

(Has anyone ever felt really, REALLY dumb and about 1 inch tall?) LOL.
