Using Secured MS Access 2003 Database

hello,
I created the user level security for one MS Access 2003 database.It created one Shortcut file in Desktop. Now I want to share the database with my company workers. How i will share the Database?

When you add user level security to a database, a special file called "Secured.md w" is created that contains information about user names and permission levels to the database. In order to open the database after user level security has been established, a special shortcut is needed (thus the shortcut Access 2003 created on your desktop). From now on, in order to open your database, you must use the new shortcut. If you want others to use the database, you must give them a copy of your shortcut file.

Hopefully, the database and the "Secured.md w" file are located somewhere they have access to. If not (and you move or copy the database and "Secured.md w" files) the path information in the shortcut file will need to be updated. Hope this helps.

NB. Moving forward (from 2007 I believe) security databases (.MDW) are no longer used in Access. They were always complicated (Quite logical really, but many people had difficulty understanding them), so it's probably not a bad thing.
