    Date on Form

hi, i'm having a problem with the date on my form. when i open the form it displays todays date for a record that was added on a previous date. when i click on 'add' to add a new record, instead of displaying the current date, it displays a different date altogether. when i click on add the form should display todays date and as i add records the date text box should not be cleared because i have to enter hundreds of records and i don't want to keep adding the same date over and over again. these dates need to be correct because i need to create reports which are generated by date range input. thankyou for your help"

Hi ZandiT, and Welcome to Bytes!

We don't have your database in front of us, so to help you we need to have some details of your form that you are not providing just now.

How is your date derived? Is it stored in a field within the table on which your form is based, or is it a calculated value of some kind? Is your form showing one record at time, or a list of records (continuous view or datasheet)?

It would help us greatly if you would post details of the relevant fields involved, particularly their names and types, and the details of any calculations involved in presenting the data.

It would also help if you could provided a screen shot showing the errors concerned, or even if you just list the values you are expecting and the values being shown. We have nothing we can visualise so far to help you.

Have a look at the date control you're using, and specifically at the default value specified in the properties.

Is this control bound to the underlying recordset?

Is there any VBA code triggered for this control?

PS. Please try to use a more appropriate title when posting a question (See Use a Good Thread Title). I have fixed this one for you.
