Memo/Text/Hyperlink... field storing a shortcut to an office file

Hello everyone! I do not know if it is possible to do something like this in Access but let me try to ask: Is there any way to insert in an Access field a shortcut to an office file, being all the files (both the Access database and the other office files) placed in the same network??
I envision a form in which, for a particular record, some information is shown. Nevertheless, for additional info, the user must open some other Office file, say a Word or Excel one. Obviously, you could also direct the user to the particular office file by telling him/her where this office file is placed (and then surf over the network and locate it). But a shorcut would be here of much help. My point here is that I do not know if this kind of shortcuts can be placed in Access. maybe they would be similar to the shortcuts that you are able to create if you right-click in an office file and then choose "create direct shortcut" (spanish translation).

    Best regards

The simplest way to do this, is to go into your table design and add a Hyperlink type field.

Then on the form itself, add a text box and bind it to your new hyperlink field.
Now when you right click in this field in Form view, you'll see Hyperlink options enabling you to set the link.
