Hi. I have only limited knowledge of Access 2007, as the database I use was created by a former employee - I just use it & have no idea how it works! There are approx 600 customer records in the database, and each customer has anything from 5 to 150 or more order. My problem is that recently, new orders are suddenly being filed in the wrong order instead of most recent order first. So I have orders dated August 08 filed say in amongst orders from say November 07. Any ideas how I can correct this, and why it might have happened? It's not a massive problem - just a bit inconvenient!

You'll have to explain what you mean by "filed" without seeing the structure of your database we can't really tell what this would mean. Does it have to do with the display of orders (i.e. you're used to seeing the newest dates first) or upon entry is it associating the wrong date with the current order, or perhaps something completely different than that? -
Each customer has a form showing all their details. It also shows a list of their orders, with the newest at the top of the list. For example Order 50 out of a total of 50 is at the top of the list. However if I then open this order (by means of a button at the bottom of the customers page) the record is placed at say number 46 out of 50. If I then enter a new order (i.e. 51) this is then placed as 47 and so on.Originally posted by janders468Comment

Look at the record sorting of the form where the records are displayed.
Either it's not sorted by the date field, or it IS sorted by the date field but the field is displayed as a formatted string in the underlying query and THAT is what it's using to sort on.Comment
