    Repair/Compact Database

    When I Repair/Compact my Access databse. I get icons/copies of a
    database named db1.mdb, db2.mdb, db3.mdb, etc...

How else may I repair this database?

    Re: Repair/Compact Database

    Hi Zuf,

If you open the database you wish to compact & repair, then it won't prompt
you to save it with a new file name.

When you compact & Repair a closed database, it always prompts you to save
    with a new file name.
However, you can name it the same as the original file and choose to
    overwrite the original.

IMHO a copy of the database during a Repair/Compact is a good thing. If you
have an crash during a Repair/Compact to the same file, the MDB can be
corrupted beyond repair. My process is to rename the original the
Repair/Compact to the original file name.
