    Sending Emails

    Hi..

My job requires me to send frequent notification to different group of customers periodically.

I have a table that stores email addresses (EmailAdd) that are grouped by categories (CAT).

How can I create a script that will send email notifications based on an input form where CAT and notification text [TEXT] are keyed in?

I have tried to search the forum but could not locate similar topic on this.

Appreciate if anyone could offer their help.

    Cheers!

One method for you to consider is this create a listbox of your relevant categories that has a multi select feature to it. The idea being that whatever you multi select in that list box returns in another listbox, a list of email addresses related to the first list of multi selected (potentially)ca tegories.

This second list of email addresses should also be multi select. The idea being that you could then multi select one or more email addresses. Having made your selection from the email address list you then type into an unbound text box your message click a button and send the mail. Is this what you want? (am not going to code the example of this if its not what you had in mind) if it is....then post your table structure ie table and fieldnames and we'll make it fit that

    Regards

    Jim :)

      Hi Jim,

      Thanks for your reply.

In fact, I would not need to select email addresses once I have chosen the category.

The form should send emails based on the category I have selected.

The flow should be, select the category, type in the notification text and click on the SEND button. The form should send to all email addresses belonged to the CAT I have selected.

      Regards,
      Clarence

          Hi Jim,

I do not know how to attach a file here.

My table name is Email and the field names are EmailAdd (email addresses) and CAT (category).

Please let me know if this is what you have requested.

          Regards,
          Clarence

            Hi Clarence,

A database is attached that demonstrates concatenating a list of email address together separated by a semi colon. These emails are derived from your table. The send method is by using Access DoCmd.Sendobjec t method (without actually sending an object)

If you place valid data ie email addresses in the tables it should work

            Regards

            Jim
