    Assistance on Reports

I currently have a report that seems to work fine if i preview the report from within access. The problem occurs when i output the report via a macro to email. I choose RTF as the format but when I preview the report attached to the email it has some strange formatting. The line spacing is totally random and the margins on the left hand side are again random. There are blank pages now in the reoprt and it has increased by 4 pages.
When the report is put into RTF is there some strange formatting that takes place in the background?
I'm sorry if this is totally confusing but i don't know how else to explain it.

I'm not sure about hidden formatting, but have you tried outputting in a different format other than RTF just to test and make sure that it is, in fact, the format that is causing the problem??

I'm afraid to say RTF files derived from reports in Access are at best flakey IMHO. You might want to look at the snapshot format that outputs files with the extension .SNP These files are viewable in the 'snapshot viewer' which comes as part of Microsoft Office but which isnt part of the default installation (the downside with this is that the viewer needs to be installed on the receivers machine as well) The output is considerably better it being an exact image of your report (additional pages as all). It might suffice for your needs?

      Regards

      Jim :)

I've tried exporting to other formats but it looks a bit messy. The information is correct Basically it needs to be RTF as it reads like a word document. The option below about using the snap shot would be useful but i need to mail this report to numerous people in other companies, hence the RTF format.
I've even tried changing the layout of the report to see if that changes anything.

          Jim,
Is there a way somebody could take a look at my database. I've tried numerous things to try and solve the report problem but none of them have worked.
Any help with this would be much appreciated.

          Thanks
