    how to track a job?

    hi,

I would like to know is there any way to track the jobs in Access. i mean, i have built a job database for my company (thatnks a lot for your help ... u helped me a lot whenever i get stucked up!)) and now they want me to build something to show "visually" so that they can identify
    1. the number of jobs that are yet to be finished in day
2.job which are completed and are ready for shipment
3.jobs that still needs more information from the customer
    4. Lastly, a scheduler to schedule all the jobs.

is this possible to be acheived in Access or sould i opt for something else?

    thanks and regards,
    Kathy

    1. You can either build a report to show a print out or simply add a graph to your form to show this.
    2. Same as I, build a query and make a graph based on this in a form.
    3. Depends what you want to show here, is there a particular field that they need to input on or multiple?
    4. Not sure what you are looking for here, do they want to auto-generate a set of tasks to be added when a new job is added or a new task to existing jobs?

      hi damon,

thanks a lot for your reply. that gives me an idea of what i should head on with.

regarding the last one, Job Scheduler:

currently in our company we have got 5 different printing machines . depends on the job requirements, each job must go to specific machine with the allocated time.
i need something to inform the user (Scheduler !!!???) about the jobs that are in pipeline for printing. each day, there might be 20 to 50 jobs and so the user needs to know about the jobs done and the jobs that are yet to be processed.

      thanks again for your reply.

      chuz,
      kathy
