Access error upon date entry

Greetings. I hope being a total and utter newbie will not be a problem. We use a macro-ized database for tracking and recording our concrete testing results. I say macro-ized because upon startup there appears to be a start page with 8 or so buttons that run different functions and take you to different "rooms" within the database. All these "macros" work fine except for one that prints a list of test specimens that need to be tested on a given date. When the date is entered, Access gives an error that "This expression is typed incorrectly, or it is too complex to be evaluated." Up until Tuesday of this week it had no problem with the date entry. Now it is giving that error. I know nothing about Access databases, the person that created this one no longer works for our Company. I found a similar error on Google from Microsoft. It said to check the system registry for the SandBoxMode value which was set to 2 like it suggested so that did not help. Thanks in advance for your patience and help.
Windows 2000, Access 2003, English. Date has always been inserted in this format: 06/14/07.

As Tuesday was the 12th I'm guessing that for some reason your date format has changed to european format. This is unusual as the default is American format.

As an experiment check if 14/06/07 causes an error. Unfortunately fixing this will require someone who knows Access. It's possible all dates recently entered are going to register as e.g. 6th December instead of 12th June. Without examining the database I can't speculate further. Something has caused the default format to change. Maybe some network change, its hard to know.

Thanks. I tried that and still get the error. Its almost as if Access is treating it as an equation instead of a date. If I open an older backup of the database, the function works normally. Unfortunately that backup is about a year old and would be missing a lot of data entry. I would offer to send you the database but don't wish to impose on your time. It is just so bizarre that it happened and frustrating because of my lack of knowledge. We also had a new employee working in the database before this happened. I don't wish to place blame and the person says he had no problems but who knows if he might have clicked somewhere he shouldn't?
