The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 4 Dec 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this presentation, fellow UK MVP, Adrian Bell (AKA Bytes.com moderator @NeoPa) will demonstrate how to create custom ribbons using command bars.
Adrian will first demonstrate a technique based on the original Office CommandBar (CB) objects that allows CommandBarButto ns (CBBs) to be added & removed on the fly without needing to restart Access. These buttons appear on a ribbon called Add-ins. If you already have an Add-Ins ribbon, the new CB & its CBB(s) will be added to what’s there. Otherwise, it is created & removed when you add & delete the first/last CBB.
Next, Adrian will show how to add other types of CommandBar controls, and use some of the many possible FaceIDs for the corresponding images.
Finally, time permitting, he will show a ribbon using CommandBar objects which allows users to run several external apps from Access.
