You will probably want to compare versions you may need to uninstall and reinstall.Originally posted by drow1212oh, I don't known if this is imporant, but my dad installed his copy on my computer. Also I need explanation on turning off AutoCorrect.
Starting in MS Access 2000 there are two types of AutoCorrect in MS Access "Autocorrec t" (corrects mispelling in controls or fields) and "Name AutoCorrect" (tracks field names or properties and tries to update tables, queries, forms, etc.).
The article that I posted the link for earlier stated the following(in the access window):
1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. On the General tab, do one or more of the following:
* To have Microsoft Access maintain the information it needs to run Name AutoCorrect, but not take any action, select the Track name AutoCorrect info check box.
* To have Access run Name AutoCorrect as name changes occur in the database, select the Perform name AutoCorrect check box.
* To have Access keep a log of the changes it makes each time it runs Name AutoCorrect, select the Log name AutoCorrect changes check box. Access saves the changes in a table called Name AutoCorrect Log. Each change is a record in the Name AutoCorrect Log table.
3. To enable Name AutoCorrect for a table, query, form or report that already exists in the Access database, open it in Design view, save it, and close it.Comment

Well I guess the pic isn't going be useful probably.Attached FilesComment

Don't worry about that. It's understood to be a problem. Site design changes are afoot but need thorough testing before rolling out.Originally posted by drow1212Well I ran out of time again.
Click on the thumbnail to see it correctly.
I fell really dumb triple posting because of time limit and now I probably look very noobish. Sorry.
Clicking on the image shown gives a clearer and easily recognisable picture so this is good :)Comment

I found several articles that reffered to the file in question. They all mentioned a macro so I searched Microsoft and found the macro. It is for a word document in Word 2000 however it should still be the same file and hopefully you can utilize this to fix the file in question. Since it is a macro for 2000 there may be some errors try it out and see then let us know.

I downloaded the macro and installed it like you said. However it didn't really do anything. Below will be several thumbnails shed new light.Comment

here's the last two.
There's sort of a play-through there.

O.K. I was afraid that would be the case but thought it was worth a try.
1. In the MS Access window under options i noticed that you had the default open mode is set to exclusive. Try changing that to shared.
2. Did you actually highlight the file in question and check out the properties just to be sure that read only isn't ticked?
3. What is your Operating system? If WinXP do you have fast user switching on and is anyone else logged into the P.C. I have watched files that locked due to this in the past with other files/programs.
4. Go to the task manager and under the processes tab do you see your log in name. Do you see anything with unknown in it?
Running out of options before suggesting an uninstall reinstall, I will keep thinking on it.Comment

The Read-Only wasn't ticked. I am running MS Windows XP(SP2). I changed it to shared and it didn't work. How do you get to the Task Manager?Originally posted by DenburtO.K. I was afraid that would be the case but thought it was worth a try.
