    Access Table Links

    I recently installed and configured an Oracle ODBC driver, I have
    successfully created a SQL-Pass Thru Query to an oracle table....

    When I attempt to create a linked oracle table in access - select files of
    type ODBC Databases().... no Select Data Source selection occurs -
    the Link dialog box closes?

      That's strange. So when you try to Get External Date - Link tables and change the data type to ODBC Databases the DSN window doesn't open?

          If I select File\Get External Data\Link Tables the link dialog box launches
          (LINK command button is greyed out), if I enter ODBC Databases the DSN
          window doesn't open?

              When you say enter ODBC Databases you mean change the file type?

                      It sounds like something is wrong with your installation. Even without the oracle ODBC the standard ODBC data sources should be available.

                              I'm not sure what version of Access you are using but it's not behaving as it should.

                              Open a blank database and try to link tables with an odbc database connection as before. If it's still not working then I think you have a problem with your Access installation and you may need to reinstall it. However, try this first and then I will ask some other experts to have a look to see if they can think of any other reason for this behavior. Can you also state what version of Access you are using and which Windows Operating System.
