Excuting telnet command from MS Access DB

    Hi everyone,

I am in charge of updating the employee’s duty shifts in a regular basis, where every engineer has a unique mobile number and he would be on duty from dd-mm-yy to dd-mm-yy.

At present time, I am updating the list manually, through a Ericsson MD110
which accept telnet command on modification.

So, i was wondering if its possible to design a data base which will have a 2 combo box's 1-with :
    Emp name -Mobile No
    Jack smith = 222444

    2-With date : dd-mm-yy
So, when Emp name chosen a telnet command get executed in the back end to send a telnet command to the MD110 ?
Even if i modify the periods manually if its not possible to do within the telnet command to affect the MD110 system.

    thanks

It doesn't appear that you can control a telnet session from files.
If it were, you could execute a .CMD file (NT version of .BAT but enhanced) to start the session and point the input to a temp file you'd just created in code in your database.
I've used this technique before with FTP which does support it.

You could try controlling the session from a file by redirecting the input but that does get more complicated and you'd need to test that it even works.
