JPEG Access 2003 Package Problem

Hi

I am trying to put Jpegs into an Access table for use in forms and
reports.

I can do it - one one of my networked pcs but not on others. The
others give me Package, despite every thump and kick I give Access
(turn it all off, restart, repair etc).

Both have MS Picture Manager installed.

Is MS Picture Editor, that is referred to in the other posts on this
problem, the same as MS Picture Manager?

Ah, I have just seen Photo Editor on the PC that works. This is what
is not installed on the others.

....the simplest solution is to install the graphics filters from your other
Office applications such as Word ...jpegs are not a native graphic in Access
and it uses the graphics filers from the other Office apps to handle them.

....if you don't have Office itself, then www.lebans.com has an old Intel
graphics file that accomplishes the same thing for jpegs in Access.

Well, I thought I had the graphics filters. I have Office and I
regularly put jpegs into Word etc - is that enough or do I need to do
more?

The Office Graphics filters have nothing to do with your issue. Access
itself has nothing to do with your issue. You are using OLE to embedd the
images directly within an OLE field. Both computers need to have the
identical Paint/Draw program installed and registered to handle the image
file type in question.

This issue is raised daily in the NG's. A quick GoogleGroups search will
yield multiple threads on this issue.
