Here is my problem. I spent a great deal of time developing a datbase
for my boss creating the tables and the relationships, and queries (to
include learning how to do create crosstab and union queries, thanks Mr
Quintal) and then finally developing the reports exactly as they were
being done in Excel, only to find out that my boss wants them in excel
so that he can further massage the data.
Here is where the problem gets uglier, most all of the reports I have
created (21 in total) are created with multiple subreports. They also
use grouping conventions in the queries that format dates as months.
I have not been able to find a way to export the report into Excel or
HTML, or XML so that it does not loose it's formatting, or create
multiple HTML pages for each page of the report.
When I pull it into excel the month formats dont cross over, and it
sems to shift the different parts such as the header, subreports, and
footers into unrelated colums.
Unfortunately I am not versed in VBA Code, so althought I am sure the
problems can be fixed in code, I dont know how to do it.
If there is anyone out there (Bob Quintal comes to mind) that may have
some ideas on how to get the data from a report into excel without
losing the formatting and such, or would like to look at this for me
(pro bono would be appreciated) I would be forever grateful, thanks.
