    Terminal Services

I have an Access 2002 app using TS on Windows 2000 Server with a max of 8
    concurrent users.
Each user has its own space on the server with its own copy of the front
end. The start up command line points to this front end and they all share a
    common MSAccess.exe on the server.

I am looking to deploy an Access 2002 app using TS on a client's Windows
2000 Server. The client does not have Access installed, so I've created the
install using Wise Standard and the SageKey object (using the 'Standalone'
    template).

I intend creating a separate folder on the server for each user, and
installing the full runtime into that folder.

Is this the best way to to it, or should I be looking at placing the runtime
files (msaccess.exe, Jet etc) into a shared folder, so that each user only
has a copy of the front end?
Is there a problem installing and running multiple copies of these runtime
    files on the same computer?
Would there be a significant performance difference using shared files?
Space on the server is not an issue.

Sorry, please disregard the first para of my earlier post. It referred to a
different installation and is not really relevant at all.

I don't think you would need to install the Runtime for each user ... the
Runtime is the same as retail Access minus design view for forms/reports
etc. Do you have a test environment setup? I'd encourage you to do so, at
which time you could test this install. I've got several TS setups that I
admin, and while none use the runtime, all only have a single install of
      Access on the TS.

BTW, even though this is on a TS, each user who connects must have a valid,
registered copy of MS Access on their workstation ...

Surely not if they are all using the run time version(s), unless putting that on a server is
        explicitly forbidden.

No, no, no. This is TS. Hello? "Applicatio n server," yes? Only one copy
of Access is required--on the TS. The number of users allowed is determined
          by the TS license.

                    Thanks Larry.
I'm not trying to be smart here, just to find out what is going on.
Looking at the thread in OE, my original post is at the root of this thread.
A post by 'Pig Button' appeared under my original post, but did not appear
to be related to it. Hence my query.
So how do I get to be accused of 'top posting', for posting in a thread
                    which I initiated?
                    Obviously, I'm missing something.

Pig Button's post is in reply to Polite Person, you might want to try a
                      different newsreader http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/ the
interface is like OE so it will be familiar. I've not seen any weird
threading issues in it and it certainly won't be as much as security
risk as OE. Good for mail too with it's built in junk filter, which uses AI.

Obviously :-) Like Larry explained and demonstrated very well <g>
although I would say I was "vehmently opposed" but I do give people a
ribbing over it sometimes (you both did noticed the smiley didn't you?).

We usually read from top to bottom so reading a post where you posted on
top of the quoted text messes up the natrual reading order, another
trait of top posters it to never snip the text that they are not
responding to. As you can see I post in-line so you can clearly see what
part of your post my post is referring to. It doesn't make a difference
if you started the thread or not, it's how you followup that counts.
