    Electronic Data Interchange

I found only five small threads discussing Access and EDI and none of
them were very recent. Is anyone interfacing with EDI using Access?
Can anyone recommend a book that would explain the basics of EDI?
This is all driven by a potential customer that requires EDI
    capability.

    Hank,

I have information relating to the Tradanet EDI network offered by Global
Exchange which is very specific to the Tradacoms standard.

If this is of any use, let me know and I can mail it to you as its quite
    lengthy.

All current EDI development uses XML. You will find lots
of information about Access and XML. The only other thing
you need to know about EDI is that 'EDI' implies the existence
of a standard. If you have a potential customer using 'EDI',
that means you have a potential customer using an EDI standard.
You need to identify the standard, and do research on that
      standard.

I do lots of Electronic Data Interchange using Access. It's
not called EDI because it uses proprietary formats and open
channels. EDI was a buzzword that implied formal standards
      and private channels.
