    Cannot lock file error

    Hi,
I have a MS Access 2000 database on the network, it is secured and the
mdw file is on the network. The database works for most of the users
on the network, but does not open for two of the users. It gives
"CANNOT LOCK FILE" error. There is really no difference between these
two users and the other users who can log on to the database. The
rights to the shared directory, where the database resides are the
same. can somebody advice me what to do?
    Thanks,
    Nand Belani

You could do a test. Have one of those users open up Notepad and save a
file to the suspect directory. Then open it and modify and save. And
then Delete. If one of those actions can't be performed, the rights
    would not be the same.

You can go to http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en and
enter *Access* in the groups and CANNOT LOCK FILE for the words to
    search and read other comments.
