  • Save to Multiple Reports to PDF and AutoName using DLookup

Q: I am getting "invalid use of null" error. Whats wrong?!?

The goal in this command is to first create a individual report "rptECR" for each SSN in tblBand Members. Next, save each report as a PDF and name each PDF the expression [location] and save into selected folder strMonth.

    tblBand Members
    Code:
    Field Type
        Rank Text
        FName

Compile Error: Sub or Function Not Defined

    Hello all.

I am trying to use DLookup to auto-populate fields in an otherwise simple database. I am using Access 2010. I have created three different databases and the code still does not work. I think there may be glitches in this particular copy of the program. Please evaluate the details below and tell me what you think.

Table 1 has fields: Product ID, CustomerName, CustomerAddr, and ComplaintLevel.

    Table...

  • Update query with Dlookup function results in conversion error

    Hi Everyone,

I've created a database (MS Access 2003) to help monitor staffing at my work.

I now need to transcribe data from one table (tblPositions) into another (tblTeams) based on a common column (Position ID). Essentially I wish to copy the [Position title] and [Position description] of different positions from tblPositions, into tblTeams according to their already recorded [Position ID] (this is to make the data more...

  • How to validate Textbox Value using Table Values?

    Good Morning,

I would like to validate a value entered in a textbox to make sure it matches one of the values in a table. The approach I took is a dlookup, but I can only get it to work for one of the values (the first one)

    Here is my code

    Code:
    If Me.AFOs.Value <> DLookup("AFO", "AFO_LOOKUP", "Office = '" & Me.Approver_Office.Value & "'") Then Me.AFOs.enabled

Why does DLookup not work in Windows 7?

I have an mdb that I am running in Vista/Access 2007 and it was working fine. I moved everything to Windows 7 and the database is working well except (so far) some DLookup commands that are coming up with blanks instead of the data (a first and last name) expected. Anyone know why? Thanks.

  • VBA DLookup with multiple criteria not functioning

    Happy Halloween all,

I have been struggling at work with a DLookup using multiple criteria. I would like a text box to display the results of a DLookup based on the values selected in three comboboxes and the table that runs them all. Here is my code:

    Code:

    Private Sub Subverbs_GotFocus()
'When the Subverbs gets focus it looks up proper subverbs from Authority_Lookup table
    Me.Subverbs = DLookup("[Subverbs]",

    Dlookup running very slowly

Some of my Dlookups run very fast, where some take up to 3 or 4 seconds to return a value. The table the slow one is coming from is only 10 records and 3 columns.

What are the causes for Dlookup to run slow?

    Dlookup returning unnecessary decimal places

I'm using the Dlookup function to return the value from a table. The value is "0.05", in the table the fields format is number and decimal places set to 2.

When I run the dlookup, it returns "0.050000000745 0581". Where does it get this number from and why does it add on extra decimal places?

Even if I put Round(Dlookup(" ","",""),2) it still displays all those decimal...

The field is not null, it contains a 'Number' value with 2 decimal places. It is going into a double variable.

I have also tried it without the [], same result.
