    long long problem

    Hi,
    I compiled the following code

    int main()
    {
    long long a = 0x7ff0000000000 000L;
    }


    I got error "test.cpp:3 : error: integer constant is too large for
    "long" type". But i think that a long long variable can hold upto
    (2^63-1) which is greater that 0x7ff0000000000 000. Then why is the
    error coming. The error comes only in g++ compiler and not in visual
    studio. Could any one help me in this ?

      what you need is - long long a=0x7ff00000000 00000LL;
