I am doing a search engine, and I have a problem, I need to check which of the checkboxes has been checked. According to the checkbox checked, the search engine will search a specific content of a field of my database.
But the script I wrote doesn´t work.

How to create links between keywords
Hello!
I would like to create links between the bibliographic files by the means of key words.For example, if the result of a search is :
Name = John Major
Function = former prime minister
Keywords = UK, Europe, politician
and if the user clicks on UK, it is lead to others files such as this one
Name = Queen Elizabeth
Function = current queen
Keywords = UK, monarchy, Windsor
But I... -

And I wouldl like that the empty fields don´t appear on the answer page of my search engine or, in other worlds, that I don´t have that kind of things (ie age without anything):
Surname : Sawers
First name : Tom
Age:
Nationality : American
I tried it but I got a result I didn´t expect.

What does that error mean? I can´t find the mistake!!
In another script, I have got another kind of mistake : parse error: parse error at .. line (and it is always on the last line!)

How to change a field content in a database for the search engine

I am doing a search engine for a library and I would like to offer the users the possibility of choosing a kind of document (video, audio, music sheet...) thanks to a check box . But the problem is that the kind of document in the database MySQL is named by an abbreviation (like "AV" for a a Video), which should not be seen on the result page. I would like that the full name "Video" is seen on the result... -

I am doing a search engine and I would like to make a search with the operator AND possible but I can´t find out how. Do I have to explode the phrase entered after each and" or does it exist an easier way to do that?

How to link a checkbox to a textbox?
Hello,
I am doing a search engine for a traditionnal music information centre. I would like that the user can enter the name of a musician in a textbox and then check the function of the musician (compositor, singer...) thanks to a checkbox. The database has fields "compositor ", "singer" ... where the name of the musician has been entered.
I can´t find what kind of script I have to write to make it work....
