    I cannot hear Sound in Video in Windows XP

    Hi friends,

    I have Windows XP OS which is installed recently. When I watch video I am not able to hear the sound ? Can you pl help me How to activate the sound? Can you pl help me ?

    There are several possible reasons for this behavior; the first thing I'd check is trivial stuff that can seem stupid but actually cause many such problems: are the loudspeakers properly connected? Is the sound switched on in Windows and at the speakers?

    If that doesn't solve your problem the next questions are: Are the drivers installed? Are they the correct ones?

    After that it get's tricky and we'll need more information.

      Hi Nepomuk,

      Thanks for your Reply. I am using Laptop so I am not using Loudspeakers/ I see sound switched on...Since Windows XP is newly installed , I am not sure whether drivers are installed...Can you pl tell which Driver I have to install???

        Well, I can't tell you the exact drivers as I don't know which laptop you're using. But if you go to the makers website and look for your model they should have drivers available there.

        If you can't do that for some reason (e.g. it's an old laptop where the maker no longer offers drivers for download) it gets more complicated but basically you have to search for the drivers on google. Chances are they're still available somewhere.
