can't open flash drive to work with windows 7

I have a flash drive used with micro soft XP now I have windows 7 is there something to convert it to work on windows 7

You shouldn't have to do anything to use it with Windows 7. It's probably a disk management issue, I would open up disk management and see if there is another drive occupying the same letter assignment.

its probably a external disk its not necessary to do any changes to the drive .
