How to start Symantec or Antimalware Bytes in Safe Mode?

I'm getting a blue screen very shortly after I boot up Windows 7, forcing me to go into safe mode. I've tried System Restore, a command prompt scan of my computer, a memory scan (which turned up negative), a removal of a recent program, and deletion of my minidump files, but the screen is still occurring. I think my only choice left is to find a way to run a virus and malware scan on my computer. Since normal mode breaks down shortly after bootup, I'd like to know if there is a way to run a Symantec or AntiMalware Bytes scan of my computer from Safe Mode. Currently neither program runs in safe mode.

Any help you can provide is very, VERY much appreciated.

They won't run in Safe Mode from your OS because whatever forced the scan/deletion is probably blocking them.

I would recommend getting a CD/DVD image of an anti-virus and running it on your computer (with your computer set to boot from the DVD image).

I know Avast used to do this - not too sure if they do now.

Other than that, your options are to pay for data recovery/virus removal or reinstallation.

Do you have good file backups?

I tried to get a BART of Avast, but apparently they're now charging $150 for it. So I found a site that goes over various free BART CDs I can make:
Bootable Antivirus Rescue CD is a bootable antivirus media source perform scans and removes computer virus without booting computer operating system first.

The problem is that I made the AVG BART and for some reason it is not booting when I start my computer. I have officially become very concerned, and I'm not sure if I should just try remaking the AVG BART CD or try a different program.
