    Hi there!

I've never experienced this problem myself, but from what I found when searching online it may just be a problem with missing or incorrectly installed drivers. Try (re)installing the USB drivers for your motherboard and see if that changes anything. If it doesn't, it would be great if you could tell us a bit more about your computer - if it's a brand name system, what model and make is it? And did you have the problem before the installation of XP SP2? (Or didn't you have it running before?)

    Greetings,
    Nepomuk
