where can i download free xp home edition in English?

I got a new PC that came with XP Home Edition.

When I started it up the first time it prompted me to complete the installation with questions regarding language. since i live in Germany I put that into the Regional data but chose English as the language. That combination makes most of the information show in German. I know I cannot change the language on Home Edition therefore I need to reinstall.

The company that I purchased the laptop from did NOT send the installation CDs nor the key code. I really dont want to purchase the OS...where can I download one for free (in English)?

It would be super cool if I could get XP Pro for free, but would be happy with Home Edition?

Any ideas??

I'm sorry, but we can't provide you with illegal software here, or information on how to get it.

However, a lot of laptops have some way to revert it to the way it was when you first got it. This varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and from model to model, so you should contact the manufacturer's helpdesk and ask them how to do it for your laptop.

If that doesn't help, feel free to post some more information on your laptop here, and someone might be able to find something.

Did they send any disks? A lot of time companies won't send an windows XP disk, but they send a recovery disk or provide you with a recovery partition on the HD that will allow you to start fresh. They do this so that all of their preloaded software will be installed every time you want to start clean.
