Problem with USB and Flash Drives (Windows XP)
After formatting my laptop, I discovered that only USB port F opens. If you put a flash drive other than the one I am using it will not open. This has caused me a serious concern. Am on window xp. I have used my recoverable cd but no progress. Before the formatting, all flash I use open. Kindly advise me on what to do.Tags: None -
When you post your issue into someone else's, that is called thread hijacking, regardless of if it is the same issue or not. This time, I will separate the threads.Originally posted by mohammedmomohAfter formatting my laptop, I discovered that only USB port F opens. With the drive plugged in and seemingly NOT working and not showing up under my computer You may need to change the drive letter by right clicking on My Computer > Manage. and then go to "Disk Management" under "storage" section.
Find your flash drive, right click it and click on "Change Drive letter and paths" change it to a letter you know is not being used.
That should probably fix it unless there is something totally bogus going on!Comment
