How to use MS SQL Server and PHP for web applicatoins?

Hi everybody,

I have read some articles over the internet and come to know that PHP can connect and retrieve data from MS SQL Server.

As far as i know, web application for MS SQL uses .Net platform and languages like VB.NET or C#.Net but i want to use PHP in place of them.

I am planning to make a web based application using MSSQL and PHP which will run at localhost and will not be hosted at any webserver.

So, I want to know technical issues that may rise using PHP with MSSQL Server for such an application.

Microsoft provides a php extension to work with MS SQL.

Have a read through that. It should explain everything. Bugs/issues are often mentioned in the comments so make sure to glance over those as well.
