Filtering text box with input validation

HI...Im researching for how to filter the text box while im typing inside it(ex. I type numbers in the VB textbox and the textbox has a datatype VARCHAR in the database)now, i just want codes to promt or message box that the inputs are not valid.. get it? i hoping for your reply guys... thanks.
