    windows 7 64bit client won't run VB 2005 assembly.

My VB app will not work properly on a Windows 7 64 bit PC. When I launched it on the Win7 PC it will open up OK but when I open a crystal report, the form page comes up ok but the report is missing. And i get a pop up window asking me for a user name an PW.

In ODBC I'm using "Microsoft Visual FoxPro Driver" and mapping my path to a folder on a server and VFP6
    I used syswow64 and CRRedist2005x64 .msi

As you can tell by my terminology that I know just enough to be dangerous nevertheless I'm the one stuck repairing it. Please please…. Any help would be most appreciated.

You need to hunt down where you used an OS specific path in the development.

No I have not done that. I will do that and let you know what happens.

Thank you so much for your help.

This is the steps I took so far:

          1. Loaded Assembly
          2. Crystal setup
          3. dotnet – power pack
          4. vfp ODBC
          5. CRRedist2005x64 .msi
          6. sqlncli.exe
          7. CRRedist2008x64 .msi
          8. Added information to the ODBC data source administrator to connect to the dbf data files located in a local server. I named it “Xport” and use the “Microsoft Visual FoxPro Driver” P.S. These steps work just fine in Windows XP and Windows 7 32-bit. I did remember to use the SYSWOW64 odbc.
          9. Turn off UAC – didn’t help so I turned it back on.
          10. Updated VB 2005 so that ALL updates and Service Pack were installed. Still no help!
          11. After Microsoft updates were installed, I re-published the App in question and problem still exist.
          a. I looked in my re-published APP (Opened MY PROJECT) and scanned through References, Application files, and Prerequisites but I could not see anything that mentioned or required Window 7 64-bit.

Didn't get that the report works on 32 bit Win 7 in the first post.
Might have to try smaller minimal deployments (perhaps by mocking out some of the services) to try and isolate the problem and then try a forum for that product.

ok so we know that vb is fine and working corectly, Am I corect in saying your app works when you run iton a win 7 32bit pc, it is only the 64bit giving you a problem.
The masjene you are developing on is a 32 bit based. So here is my is my idea I may be wrong, as we all know there are mager difrences in 32 and 64 bit windows so have you tryed recompiling the ap on a 64 bit pc an runing that app on the same version of windows
