In access, I am trying to create an input mask for dates like: 12/31/2009, or 1/14/2010.
    I tried this mask: 99/99/"2010";0;_
This won't work because I want the default to be 2010, but be able to change/over-write the '10 in 2010 with '09 when the year is 2009. Is this too difficult for access?

      Hi,

If you were actually working IN Access the input mask would be defined as 00/00/0000 with the default value being set to a complete given date not a portion of the date (ie the year) The Access input mask would not recognise being just given 2010 as a concatenation ie: 00/00/2010 it would simply place 20 in the portion prior to the first forward slash and 10 immediately after it it, which is not of course what you want.
