Setting up a Tab Control Form

Help I am trying to establish a from that uses tabs to link to other forms. For instance a login would take the person to a form that list VCR's. This would have tabs that say Model, Manufacturer and Use. How do I begin on this form? I had started by using the tab strip component but I am lost still.

    Thanks

Hi. You don't actually have different forms. It is one form with tabs or pages if you like. You need to read up on the tab control. It is not easy to program from scratch.

Thanks that is just what I did. It was/is going to be one form that connects to multiple forms. For instance, one tab will active form "A" that will update the database concerning it purpose. Another tab will open form "B" that will update the same database by apply a slightly different informatiojn set. This wil proceed through at least 16 other forms.

OK I see. You start by closing down your computer and getting out a pencil and paper. Draw a schematic of how you want the set of forms to work, how you want your database to work, how the forms should interconnect etc. Draw in the controls; buttons, textboxes, comboboxes etc. When this design is complete you will have most of your answers. Implimentation is the final phase of a project not the first. A lot of new programmers start with the ide which is backwards and makes the project take over twice as long with ten times the number of bugs to fix.

          Design?! Yuck!

What about all the fun of re-working everything dozens of times, then throwing it out and trying something else late at night with huge pressure to have it working perfectly by the morning? ;)

            Absolutely.

            1. Implementation
