Need to Undock Computer

Hi, I'm searching for a way to undock a laptop programatically . Can this be done? So far the only way I know of is to send keys to the OS so that it goes to Start | Undock Computer, but that solution doesn't always work correctly. Anyone know of a better way to do this?
