I read it that there is already a second array:

Dim a As String() = {"a", "b", "c"}
Dim b As String()

ReDim b(a.Length - 1)

a.CopyTo(b, 0)

If not:

Dim a As String() = {"a", "b", "c"}
Dim b As String()

b = DirectCast(a.Cl one(), String())
