    Unhandled Exception

I've made some changes to a program written by my predicessor, I've modified
the program to use some new rtf files.

It will work fine in debug mode, but when I make an installation it always
gives me a error. Here's the part that really confuses me. I can't find out
why i'm getting this error, so I put the exe file in the folder with the
previous, unaltered version with all of it's support files minus the new rtf
that i added and it works fine. I then added the new rtf and this is when I
began getting the error message "Microsoft .NET Framework - An unhandled
expecption has occured..." and when I ignore the problem the program won't
acess any rtf's at all, even the ones that previously worked.

Obviously the problem is being caused by my new rtf file. So I delete it,
but that doesn't make the problem go away. Even though the situation is
exactly the same as it was a minute ago, before I moved in the new rtf and
    everything worked fine.

Could you please shed some light on why this is happening? Is it that I have
some how offended Bill Gates and he is now taking his revenge by causeing me
such frustration, or is there a simple solution that this ignorant beginner
    is unaware of?
