I would like to write a VB.NET program to solve the following:
I have encountered a problem with a few of my corporate clients. They are
going to laptops for everyone and this means they will be connecting in
multiple places. I am configuring the laptops for them with the standard
windows login that allows them to enter their user name and then choose the
domain being either the domain at work or the local computers domain. (They
would then need a separate user for their home DSL, cable or dial-up.) The
trouble is that this does not seem flexible enough for the users who simply
don't care to take the time to learn to configure their own computers for
home. I would like to try to write a .net program which sets up the user,
computername, domain, DNS, Outlook with exchange or local mailbox, address
book etc for each possible configuration and lets the user choose where they
are, or simply allows the computer to sense where it is.
Has anyone tried this? It it already available?
