We have a series of monitors against the windows error log looking for the success or failure of the TRN,DIFF and Full backups. Works fine under S2008 by finding
SQLISPackage100 :12291 -- failure
SQLISPackage100 :12289 -- success.
We further differentiate success/failure of "what" by the name of the job.
We've now installed an R2 server and the monitors fail because no SQLISPackage100 records are written to the error log. Turned on package logging and we get WAY too much detail. Looks like this is a "feature" of R2.
I think I can monitor the SQLAgent codes (18264, 18265, 18270)instead, but I cannot find the failure codes.
Any suggestions on either how to get SQLSSIS100 messages back, or what agent codes to use to find failures would be greatly appreciated.
