How to change table name in sql 2000 server with alter statement?

I would like to change table name at SQL2000 database. I use alter statement
ALTER TABLE Table_Name RENAME TABLE Old_Name TO New_Name

I'm not sure you can. ALTER TABLE, alters the properties of the table including columns, etc.. To rename the table, use sp_rename instead.
