I am having a weird problem that I can't seem to find an answer to anywhere online so I thought I'd finally post a question.
I am trying to connect to a remote SQL Server through an Access .adp file (Access 2007) through the Data Link Properties. It works just fine on my laptop, which is running Windows XP and has SQL Server Manager 2005 installed. However, I can't get it to connect on my PC, which is running Windows Vista and has SQL Server Manager 2008 installed. I still am able to connect to the database (on both) through the Management Studio (both versions), but the PC won't connect through an .adp file which is really weird. I checked and the server allows remote connections and the "SQL Server Browser" service is installed. Any ideas?
The error I get (when connecting to an .adp via the Vista PC) is:
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
Login failed. Catalog information cannot be retrieved.
