Newbie trying to write a server side variable

I am working with SQL server and I am trying to write a server side variable to call for the record set (the webpage code is .asp) that is being entered on the website when the button on the website (submit button) is clicked.

Not sure If I stated that clearly enough. I am extremly new to this.
