Observe field not working in IE

Hello,
I have one combo box values,dependin g on the selected value from combo box, i need to retrieve the data from the database.I am using observe_field,I ts working fine in Firefox.But in IE(any version),its not working.I am using rails 2.3.5,ruby 1.9.1.How can i make it work on both FF & IE browsers?Help me.
