Hello, everyone.
We have met a problem recently: CREATE DATABASE query takes up to 60-70 seconds.
This happens when the total number of databases exceeds the number of 400. And the more databases we add the bigger is the execution time of this command.
What can be the problem?
I doubt that PostgreSQL has a limitation of 400 DB per server and if more, it slows one query down (only CREATE DATABASE query gets slow).
The PostgreSQL server configuration file is default. So I think there is no need to inserted it here.
PS: no additional services(like replication etc.) are running. The PostgreSQL server CPU/RAM usage is not even close to 30% then the database is being created so it is not the reason.
The number of active connections has nothing to do with it too because the same behaviour can be reproduced on local server with the same configuration and databases number.
Please help.
Thank you.
