    WAMP and myphpadmin recommendations

    howdy all,

I'm considering setting up php, mysql, apache and myphpadmin on my pc
to run a site on. Now obviously I'm security concious which means I
need to put the time in to do a bit of reading to make the server
secure, but I know there are WAMP install packages out there that can
    make life easier.

Can anyone recommend a good package I can download that will give a
reasonable level of security on which I can build and configure. I'm
not too keen on installing any 'ol package that will leave my server
    wide open.

I thought you guys would be best to ask.

    Many thanks

Hi - I Like FoxServ - see http://www.foxserv.net for more info.
But ... I would not run a webserver exposed to the world on 'my pc', ever.
Perhaps a machine dedicated to this task, with good firewalls in place ...

    regards [Bill]

I'm thinking of putting a WAMP setup on a dedicated machine which has
Athlon 3000+, 1gb ram, 120gb SATA raid and 1mb DSL, XP Pro, software
firewall. If anyone has any guidance/want's to share experience to
help me set up my first WAMP server, it would be appreciated.
