I whipped up this site last night (PHP + wildcard DNS)

It's a shorter URL site. But you can name the links instead of just getting
a random string (you have that option as well).

Does this seem like something people would use?

For example I want to link to a discussion on mod rewrite:

    instead of

    fdf31c86/3f71819b1d5be5a 2?q=mod+rewrite +php&_done=%2Fg roups%3Fq%3Dmod +rewrit
    e+php%26&_doneT itle=Back+to+Se arch&&d#3f71819 b1d5be5a2

I'd like to get comments on this! Thanks

    Jason

Very cool. I had been toying with the idea of doing something like this
myself but now there's no need. I like that you show the most popular
    links.

But he already has shit in there. It could get a lot worse.

Very nice... I like the stats that you display at the bottom (most
viewed and the others). Would you post a copy of the source?

Sorry for the double post, but just I just tried www.wordyurl.com and
it worked, so you might want to fix that so that www.wordyurl.com goes
          to wordyurl :-p

Congratulations on making another anonymous redirector service for spammers,
            lamers and criminals to abuse.

You might want to consider the experiences of your peers

              That's interesting.

tinyurl.com and shorturl.com are still chugging along...maybe there are ways
to curb that sort of activity?

By closely monitoring what is added, and automatically suspending links that
get large jumps in the number of hits.

The pause while confirming redirection may put a number of spammers off, but
you'll still get a number cheapskate spammers using it.

                    Otherwise, tread very carefully.

So there is a pause for you too? Our DNS server is screwy. I thought maybe
                      it was just me.

dyndns.com does a url shornter, but I don't see too much spam coming
from there. I think that a service like this helps out more so then the
portental it has for spammers. Plus, if a big spammer gets ahold of it,
I'm sure that you'll notice the increase in bandwith and the jump in
usage for that one entry. I'm assuming that you are keeping a database
of all the entries, add another 2 tables into it to record the IP and
the hostname of the user. If they turn out to be a smapper, blacklist
                        the hostname.
