in general i suggest this book to new developers "Wrox Beginning PHP5, Apache, and MySQL Web Development" try to get a paper copy of this and study every single word.

But this will cover your php skill vastly. its hard to find a book only on mysql even though you can try "The Definitive Guide to MySQL 5 (Definitive Guides)". You can also try SQL book that will cover your basic sql skill.
