How to insert an HTML page into Excel ?

Hello,

I am using the (rather old) Spreadsheet/Excel/Writer.php to export data into Excel format. Now, I would like to insert in a sheet a formatted HTML page, which I cached using the Smarty template.

Does anyone have an idea how this would work? If I insert it the "usual" way:

$worksheet->write(0, 0, $c);

then it just writes the HTML code into a cell, but it doesn't display the interpreted code....

Excel does not have an HTML rendering engine, so HTML would only show up as markup. If you are interested in formatting the cells, I found this article on the topic.
