As far as I can see, you can use that as it is. You would only have to prefix the variables with $ (to make them valid PHP variables) and add a semi-colon (;) to the end of the line.

how can code this formula so tha when the user fills in the values of c and x it calculates the value of w.i have tried using this function but i dont get any result post_x & post_c from the form but gives me any error

this is not even PHP syntax. you should read a PHP tutorial to get familiar with PHP first.
